ultimate bachelor pad.

It may come as a shock to most people, but not all bachelors choose to live in an apartment consisting of beer soaked sofas and cluttered kitchens. Nicole Sassaman designed a space in Malibu suitable enough for the most discerning of gentlemen. Neutral walls and floors and the clean lines of the dark wood make the home feel incredibly spacious and create a air of understated sophistication.

The greatest thing about this walk-in closet is how simple it is.

I love how easy going the master suite is - there is nothing fussy about it. Simple white bedding against the modern headboard bring in the masculine feeling, while the leather chair and shag rug provide needed texture.

Entrance to the master suite - what a view!

A "formal" seating area greets the guests upon entering the home. This is a great example of how neutrals used in a monochromatic scheme can be just as impactful as a room filled with color.

In the family room, the modern fireplace takes center stage but does not dominate the room thanks to its light color. Various seaside references bring the beautiful Malibu beaches into the home.

Ample entertaining room makes the kitchen and dining room even more amazing. I love the white countertop with the waterfall edge and how it encases the six dark leather bar stools.

Clean and simple - the way a bathroom should be.

I can't figure out if I like the view from the bathtub or the inside of the shower more.

The master bathroom is probably my favorite room in the house. The vanity area is fantastic, and the shag rug makes a third appearance in order to tie in the entire master's quarters.

Sanctum Soho Hotel

Located on London's chic Warwick Street, the Sanctum Soho Hotel is the epitome of bohemian glamour. The 30 bedroom boutique hotel is composed of two former Georgian townhouses that were turned into "an alluring haven of hedonism". Lesley Purcell infused Sanctum with a sense of vintage glamour ranging from elaborate rococo styling to art deco elegance.

It didn't take long for me to realize that this could potentially be my dream suite.

The mirrored wall across from the bed has a built in desk to keep your eyes on the beautiful bed at all times.

The interesting layout of this space gives a whole new meaning to a loft floor plan. With hard work (and the funds of course), one could convert their plain apartment into a work of art. And yes, that is a bathtub.

A more feminine suite in shades of lilac and plum.

Beautiful artwork by Xavier Pick can be found through the Sanctum.

The fabulous chair was the first thing that caught my eye - until i saw the dramatic lamp shade!

The glass columns and clean modern lines add to the art deco feel of the restaurant.

The private theatre.

glam spa.

The Viceroy Miami's spa is nothing less than opulent. Once you get past the immense citron chandelier, you can truly appreciate the work that went into this beautiful space. From the outlandish choice of furniture (white Louis lounge chairs - brilliant!) to the stunning window wall looking out upon Miami, this spa truly is the epitome of chic.

needs : The St. Regis Bora Bora Resort

As many of you know, we are in the middle of Resort season, a time where those lucky enough to escape the holidays journey out to some of the world's most glamourous locations. I found myself wondering where I would fly off, so I did some research on my dream vacation - Bora Bora. The island thrives on its aqua-centric tourism, and for good reason. Completely secluded, it has become a playground for those in need of a private over-the-water bungalow in the South Pacific. The St. Regis Bora Bora Resort has created a small world that "exists beyond expectation." With rooms ranging from $845 a night to about $2,800, a vacation here may cost the same amount as a small car - and it is worth every penny. I can only imagine what I would have to pack - I get the feeling cut off shorts and tees would make me stand out like a sore thumb. Luckily, Gucci introduced their fabulous 2010 Cruise Collection that would surely aid my friends and me on our excursion.

wants : J.Crew men's spring 2010 collection

Frank Muytjens, the head menswear designer for J.Crew, has an eye for modern masculine style. Several years ago, the brand had made a name for itself as a leading preppy retailer : the go-to for critter chinos and madras cargo shorts. Thanks to Frank though, the J.Crew men's collection has become the favorite among american style aficionados, including myself. For Spring 2010, Frank presented a collection that left me drooling with credit card in hand. On my list for must-have spring items, a pair of dirty white jeans is crucial. Though white is the classic spring/summer color, it can be very jarring and a little too clean cut. The distressed denim adds to the whole casual "cool" factor of the brand. The chambray shirt, an american icon, is taken to another level when slimmed down and offered in a variety of washes. I will probably be living in the charcoal version, along with the white jeans and a pair of boat shoes, for a good part of spring.
